What are the differences between the PATCHBOX Plus+ and the PATCHBOX 365?

The PATCHBOX Plus+ is designed for standard network racks and the PATCHBOX 365 for smaller network racks, yet both share the same fundamental benefits.

The PATCHBOX Plus+ has an installation depth of 600mm from the 19″ rails. The PATCHBOX 365 has an installation depth of 365mm from the 19″ rails.

The PATCHBOX Plus+ is available in two variants. The standard version has an extractable cable length of 1.8m which covers up to 30 rack units (RU) from the mid of a 19” component to the mid of another 19” component (RU), the Long Range variant has an extractable cable of 1.8m and a non-retractable over-length of 0,7m. The Long Range variant covers up to 46 RU from mid to mid.

The PATCHBOX 365 has a cable length of 0.8m which covers up to 8 RU (from mid to mid), yet because of its smaller unit depth it does not require mounting rails.

The PATCHBOX 365 is designed for smaller network racks and has a retractable cable length of 0.8m which covers up to 8 rack units (RU) from mid to mid.

The PATCHBOX Plus+ has an extractable cable length of 1.8m which covers up to 30RU from the mid of a 19″ component to the mid of an other 19″ component (RU).

For longer connections, which should cover more than 30RU, Long Range Cassettes are available. The PATCHBOX Plus+ Long Range Variant has a total cable length of 2.5m which covers up to 46RU. The cable has 1.8m extractable length + 0.7m overlength non-retractable which is hanging out of the cassette when the cable is not patched.

Our portfolio covers Cat.6a (UTP/STP) as well as fiber optic (OS2/OM4) with several connector combinations. Special configurations* for fibre optics are possible.

Yes, the PATCHBOX 365 Cassettes can be used in combination with a PATCHBOX Plus+ Frame. However, the PATCHBOX Plus+ Cassettes shall not be used with a PATCHBOX 365 Frame due to the missing mounting rails to support the extra weight of the longer Cassettes.

Both the PATCHBOX Plus+ and PATCHBOX 365 have been tested 300+ pulling cycles without any compromises in performance.

Yes, both the PATCHBOX Plus+ and PATCHBOX 365 are PoE compatible. While our STP cables are able of PoE (802.3af), our UTP version offers PoE++ (Type 3, 802.3bt).

Our Cat. 6a UTP and Cat. 6a STP network cables provide a data rate of 10GBit/s, while our fiber optic cables provide a data rate of 40 and 100 Gigabit.

We often get this question from customers, who have not installed the PATCHBOX in their rack yet. The retraction of the PATCHBOX cables works in a way, which helps to improve IT workflows. The cable has only little tension on it so you can work with one hand rather than with two. After few patches you will get a feeling on which cable length you need to pull out for accurate patching. As soon as you have finished patching and have reached the perfect length of your cable, put on the cable brake and you are ready to go – now the cable is fixed without any tension.
If you would like to get the cable pulled back fast into the cassette completely, pull the cable out on both sides equally, lose it afterwards and it gets retracted back easily.

You might have activated the cable stopper on the front of the cassette. Pull it out of the cassette until you feel it snap in. This releases the cable stopper and allows the patch cord to move freely. How long are the cables?

We offer 3 different cable lengths: 0,8m / 2.6ft for 8 rack units; 1,8m / 6ft for 30 rack units and 2,5m / 82.ft* for 46 rack units (*1,8m / 6ft retractable, 0,7m / 2.3ft non-retractable).

Our cables are tested to ISO/IEC 11801 Ea Class and ANSI/EIA/TIA-568 Cat 6A Channel standards and are also RoHS compliant.

Yes, our cables are RoHS-compliant.

Due to the short distances covered, you do not have to worry about crosstalk or next. Our Cat.6a cables comply with industry standards to ensure optimal network performance and reliable data transmission. Click here to find out more.

The bandwidth of our Cat.6a cables is 500MHz (up to 550) with a max. transmission rate of 10Gbps. While our OS2 and OM4 cables can reach 100 Gbps.

Yes, our STP cable is capable of PoE, our UTP cable is capable of PoE++ Type 3 (802.3bt).

The patchbox.one has been tested 300+ pulling cycles without any compromises in performance.

Yes, we offer a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty on the patchbox.one. This warranty also applies to the cables, the Frame and the Cassettes and its system within it.

Yes, they are. No matter if you purchased a pre-configured patchbox.one or a Cassette and a Frame as single products – they are all covered by a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.

While we can not offer other connectors for our Cat.6a cables, we do offer further connectors for our Fiber Optic cables on request. Click here to request a connector type.

A broken cable is way less likely to occur with the patchbox.one as there is less tension on the cable and the port compared to conventional cabling. The cables are covered by a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. If they break within these ten years, your cable cassette will be replaced. Replacing a broken cable in the rack is very easy – simply take out the cassette, slide in the new cassette and patch the cable.

No, a broken cable within the cassette can not be replaced, as the mechanism inside would fall apart. Opening a cassette will void the warranty.

The patchbox.one comes in two different sizes: one for 8RU with an installation depth of 365mm/14.37” and our 30RU and 46RU with an installation depth of 600mm/23.62″.

Yes, you can. Our 8RU version of the patchbox.one can be mounted on a 2-Post rack with our /dev/mount. Due to its higher weight the 30RU and 46RU versions require to be installed with mounting rails.

Setup.exe

What type of network racks / 19" rails is the Setup.exe compatible with?

The Setup.exe fits all 19″ rails with squared and round holes. It comes with an adapter that can be easily replaced. The Setup.exe can also be configured to fit 19″ rails with different rail thicknesses. Find out more in our Help Center.

The recommended maximum load-bearing capacity is 50kg/110lbs.

Yes, we offer a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty on the Setup.exe.

/dev/mount

How much weight can the /dev/mount carry?

The recommended maximum load-bearing capacity is 200kg (440lbs)*.

The recommended maximum load-bearing capacity is 50kg/110lbs.

Please do NOT use tools to fasten the /dev/mount. Hand-tightening the HEX-nuts is fully sufficient. Tightening the HEX-nuts with tools may bend your equipment and 19″ rail!

They are not neccessary as we recommend hand-tightening only which will not scratch your components. (But saves you a step in your workflow)

As long as you provide us with the correct VAT number of the company receiving the shipment, we can deliver the order to another country. For example, if a shipment is being delivered to Germany, a German VAT number must be provided regardless of the billing address or your destination.

To expedite the customs process and ensure a swift delivery of your order, we kindly request that you provide us with your EORI number before your purchase. While we do offer different connector types for Fiber Optic Cables, we, unfortunately, can not offer different cable types or categories. For other special configuration requests, please get in touch with our sales department at sales@patchbox.com

Warranty

How long is the warranty?
We warrant that all of our products are free from manufacturing defects. The warranty period for the patchbox.one is ten years from the date of initial purchase. The Setup.exe is covered by a lifetime manufacturer warranty.
The warranty covers any manufacturing defects. If your product stops working due to a defect within the warranty period, the defective part will be replaced free of charge
The warranty applies to our cabling systems and Setup.exe, whether purchased via PATCHBOX directly or from our reseller. Please note that proof of purchase is required when submitting a warranty claim.
If your PATCHBOX product is found to be defective within the warranty period, it may be eligible for replacement. For our warranty policy, please see Terms & Conditions and contact us at support@patchbox.com.

Shipping & Delivery

When will I receive my delivery?

Delivery times depend on the region and the order quantity. The following information refers to regular orders. For bulk orders (for example, orders that require delivery on pallets) it may take a few days longer. Here is an overview:

Orders from the EU

patchbox.one Systems and Cassettes: Delivery will arrive 3 to 15 days after you place your order.
All other products: Delivery will arrive 2 to 8 days after you place your order.

Orders from the UK

patchbox.one Systems and Cassettes: Delivery will arrive 7 to 15 days after placing the order.
All other products: Delivery will arrive 5 to 10 days after placing the order.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ORDERS TO THE UK

Shipping costs for European and non European countries will be calculated and shown at checkout, before completing your order. Please keep in mind that deliveries to non-EU countries might imply customs duties and import taxes. These fees are not included in our prices or shipping costs and are the responsibility of the recipient.

Please consider the fact that it is not possible to change the delivery address after the goods are handed over to the logistics provider.
